How to play

How a round works

On the count of three, both point their finger at a person at the same time. If they agree, they score a point and keep going. Their score is the pile of penalties they hand out to everyone else at the end. If they disagree, the run is over.

Luminary picks the duo or you agree on it. That way nobody can see who the other is about to point at.
Read the question
A question appears, for example: which of you two texts back faster?
Point at the same time
On three, each of you points a finger at the person you mean, without touching them. If you both point at the same person, you agree.
Collect points, then hand them out
Every match earns a point and the next question. Your accumulated score is the pile of penalties the duo then hands out to the others. Mess up the very first question and you both take a penalty yourselves.

How many people do I need for Back to Back?

Luminary works from two people with no fixed player cap. Two players sit back to back for each run, then the duo can rotate through a larger group.

What do I need to play Back to Back?

You only need one iOS or Android phone with Luminary. The app selects the questions, tracks matching answers, and counts the duo's points.

Can you play Back to Back without alcohol?

Yes. Instead of drinking you can count points or hand out small challenges. The mode works just as well without any drinks.
