Drink up, flip the empty cup at the edge of the table by flicking it, then the next player goes. Whichever team finishes first wins.

  1. Line up the teams

Two equally sized teams stand facing each other at the table, each with a cup in front of them.

  2. Drink on go

On a start signal, the first person on each team drinks their cup empty.

  3. Flip the cup

They place the empty cup at the table edge and flick it so it lands upside down. Only once it stands does the next person go.

  4. First team wins

As soon as everyone in a row has flipped their cup, that team wins. The losing team takes a small penalty.

Variations

  • Relay there and back: after the last person, the row works its way back in reverse.
  • Handicap: the winner of the last round starts with a slightly fuller cup.
  • Without alcohol: play with water or soft drinks, the pace stays the same.

Tips for your round

  • The cup really has to be empty, otherwise it splashes when you flip it.
  • A gentle flick on the top rim works better than a hard slap.
