It's all about bluffing: everyone rolls in secret and calls a result that has to be higher than the previous player's. Whether it's true or a lie is for the next player to decide.

  1. Roll in secret

The first player rolls both dice under the cup and sneaks a look at the result without showing it.

  2. Call the result

They call a number. The higher pip is the tens digit, so a 6 and a 4 make 64. You can tell the truth or bluff.

  3. Believe or call

The next player believes it and rolls something higher, or calls the bluff. Every call has to be higher than the one before.

  4. Whoever lies, drinks

When it's called: if the previous player lied, they drink. If they told the truth, the person who called drinks.

Variations

  • Value order: lowest are 31, 32 up to 65, then the doubles 11 to 66, and at the very top is the Mia, a 2 and a 1.
  • Doubting a Mia: if a called Mia is revealed and it's true, the doubter often drinks double.
  • Without alcohol: whoever loses picks up a penalty point instead of drinking.

Tips for your round

  • A good poker face is worth more than good rolls.
  • Tell the truth now and then, or your bluff becomes easy to read.
